Bird of Prey film screening
In advanced celebration of the Philippine Eagle Week, Br. Fidelis Leddy Learning Resource Center (LRC), together with Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF), is offering a 3-day special online free screening of an abridged cut of Bird of Prey : The Story of the Rarest Eagle on Earth, an award-winning documentary about the country's national bird. Directed and produced by The Cornell Lab of Ornithology of New York, USA, and shot by Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Neil Rettig, the film has received at least 16 awards at various film festivals around the world, and has been screened at multiple cities in the U.S.
After the very successful Philippine premieres and regional screenings in 2019, the next logical step is to bring the film’s Ultra High Definition (ultra HD) images and its poignant yet hopeful storytelling to as many public venues in the country as possible and make the film do what it is meant to do: inspire public awareness, but more importantly, drive the right human attitude and action. From the very words of former WWF President Mr. Lory Tan who was featured in the film, "The Philippine Eagle must become accessible to many Filipinos. They must understand why it is our national symbol".
The free online streaming of "To Save Our Eagle", the 45-minute cut of the film, is made possible in partnership with the Forest Foundation Philippines through the Vimeo Online platform. Each viewer is sponsored by the Foundation to watch the film for free and a portion of each view will be donated directly to the Philippine Eagle Conservation.
This free film screening is open to the public. To watch, kindly register first using the registration form below. After submitting your information, you should receive an email with the URL of the video and passcode. The passcode is only valid within the screening period (May 26-28, Wednesday to Friday). To help generate viewing numbers for the benefit of Philippine Eagle Conservation, please do NOT use incognito or private browser windows to view the film. After watching, we also enjoin viewers to answer this self-learning assessment form: https://forms.gle/yVPit9LEYwQUNGpd8
