The Br. Fidelis Leddy Center for Learning Resources (CLR) in partnership with Elsevier and Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (OIER) will be having its Learning Session on “Getting Your Research Published” on May 21, 2024 (Tuesday) at 9:00AM to be facilitated by Dr. Johan Jang, Customer Success Manager for Elsevier Southeast Asia.

Session Objectives:

• Provide participants with an understanding of the research ecosystem, which includes the individuals, institutions, processes, and factors that influence scholarly research and publication;
• Learn the importance of systematic evaluation throughout the manuscript preparation and publication process to improve manuscript quality and increasing chances of publication success;
• Provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the process of submitting a research paper for publication;
• Understand the various resources, tools, and support services offered by Elsevier to help researchers with the publication process.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Johan Jang is a Customer Success Manager for Elsevier Southeast Asia, where he has established successful collaborations with a diverse range of educational institutions and government organizations throughout the region.

He has gained recognition for his expertise in the fields of writing, publishing, and research database and intelligence utilization, and has been a sought-after speaker at various events on these topics. In his role, he is responsible for client consultation, overseeing solutions management and utilizations, monitoring research trends and publications, and connecting stakeholders with Elsevier's solutions and programs. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he received global recognition as Customer Consultant of Elsevier in 2023, 2022, 2021, and nominee in 2020. He is also a lecturer at Universitas Pelita Harapan and the London School of Public Relations.

Johan's educational background is a doctor in Educational Leadership and Management, a master's in education technology, and Marketing Communication; all graduated with great honor. He has extensive experience in the education sector, having worked as a lecturer, academic manager, and curriculum coordinator in Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
